Storm before the Calm

By Sabrina Shaw

I wrote this piece specifically for underrepresented and underappreciated dancers and performers. With the rise of AI and our ever-advancing media, creative art can be cultivated within minutes. This is to recognize that dance will never be a dying art. It will never be manipulated by technology, and will forever be salvaged by human masterminds. This piece was featured in UNC Xpressions 2023-2024 magazine, along with a photoshoot directed by me. The fullshoot is featured on my Instagram, @Sabrinaashaw.

Blending Chords
A photo story by Sabrina Shaw
A story about Shannon Butler, a resident of Pinehurst, North Carolina and her journey of finding the intersection of her artistic endeavors and her traditional job. Through this series, you will be able to identify. The beacons of art that carry her throughout her personal and professional career in an environment that doesn’t necessarily harness artists.
